Buying Kubota

When you are looking for used Kubota equipment like tractorsexcavators or backhoes then Kubota is probably a name that is high on your list.  They are known to be durable machines that have versatility and are powerful even when they come in compact sizes so they are the first choice for many people in the industrial and agriculture industries.

There are a few things that you need to look for when you are intending to buy used Kubota equipment.  First of all, you need to be able to determine whether or not the machine has been properly maintained.  If you can get the maintenance records this is the best way to do it.  Look not only to see that there has been regular maintenance, but also what kind of maintenance has been done.  This can tell you if there are any potential problems with the equipment.  If the maintenance records are not available this can be a little more difficult and in this case you will want to have a good mechanic take a look at the unit before purchasing.

It’s imperative that you know whether or not you are looking at a ‘gray market’ machine.  If you buy used Kubota equipment that was built in Japan for instance, and meant to be used and serviced there the warranty will not be valid in the United States.  There are a few things that you can do to determine this.  First, check the manual to see that the identification numbers are the same as they are on the machine.  If they don’t match then chances are good it was intended for another market.  You can also check the safety labels on the machine itself.  If they are missing or written in Japanese this should be a red flag.  You can also take a look at things like the writing on the tires.  If that is written in Japanese then you could end up trying to buy used Kubota machinery with no warranty.  You may decide to do that, but the price had better reflect this fact.

Make sure that if you buy used Kubota machines they have all of the safety features that are required in your country.  In the United States, it is mandatory to have working seat belts and PTO (power take-off) shields in place.  You will also want to check that there is a ROPS (rollover Protective System) that is in good shape.  It could prove to be the best piece of equipment you ever bought if you buy used Kubota machinery.  There are great deals to be found on used Kubota machines, you just need to know what to look for.
